The last match in what has been a jam-packed midweek of footballing action sees Chelsea host Manchester City at the Stamford Bridge in the Premier League on Thursday, the 25th of June.

The hosts have played one game so far and manager, Frank Lampard would have been delighted to see the fight his team showed as they registered a spirited second-half comeback against Aston Villa – a result which keeps them firmly in the race to secure Champions League qualification for next season.

Manchester City meanwhile have looked in imperious form since the restart, thrashing Arsenal and Burnley by 3-0 and 5-0, respectively. With nothing to play for atleast when it comes to the league, Pep Guardiola will be hoping that his side maintains their form as they head into their clash in Europe in the near future.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 8:15pm BST which is at 3:15am early Friday morning in India.

Where can fans watch the game?

Fans in India can watch it on Star Sports and stream it online on Hotstar.

Team News

Chelsea
With the matches coming in thick and fast, Lampard suggested that he might look to mix and match which means that Tammy Abraham could start despite Olivier Giroud scoring in their win over Villa. N’Golo Kante will be expected to play the full 90 minutes and Reece James could come in place of Marcos Alonso, in a change of formation which would see Cesar Azpilicueta playing at left-back.

Manchester City
Guardiola will be without star striker, Sergio Aguero who picked up a knee injury against Burnley while the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Raheem Sterling and Aymeric Laporte could be brought back into starting XI.

Prediction

Even though Chelsea are coming into the game on the back of win, it would be hard to look past City who have been in brilliant form. An exciting match in which the defending champions have the upper hand.
